Hi all,
I am, like many, currently working from home.
I'm connected over a vpn connection to our company network.
I can't connect to the OPC Server in our plant with uaExpert. Error "Could not connect to server: BadTimeout"
The IT is currently checking if the connection is blocked or something.
I want to know, how high can the ping get until the connections shows the error.
If I ping the OPC Server (the device on which the server is running) I got an average ping of 25ms. Is this still OK?
Thanks!!
Max ping to connect to OPC UA server via VPN

Re: Max ping to connect to OPC UA server via VPN
Hi,
yes the ping latency is more than ok. The connect-timeout is typically in the "second" time range rather than milliseconds.
The problem is that the TCP port is probably not forwarded in your VPN, hence the ping may get thropugh but not the TCP connection the UaExpert is trying to establish. Your administrator should be able to fix the issue.
