License

Post by efzed »

Hello,
can you please clarify how does licensing work? (or point me to the documentation)
What I am trying to understand is:

(using the evaluation bundle)
- what happens to an OPC server built with the evaluation bundle using the license.lic resource found in the demo sample
- what happens to an OPC server built with the evaluation bundle without any license.lic resource

(using the paid bundle)
- what is needed to do after having bought and downloaded the SDK bundle (not the evaluation one)
- what happens to an OPC server built with the paid bundle using the sample license.lic resource found in the demo sample
- what happens to an OPC server built with the paid bundle without any license.lic resource
Thanks

F.

Hi,

the licensing is described in the documentation:
http://documentation.unified-automation ... nsing.html

It is not allowed to use the "Evaluation Edition" for productive use, that is why it's called "evaluation". Hence you can not license it.

When you purchase the license you get a link/account for your personal download area. Next to the download of the SDK package you will find your license file. On every delivered service release edition, you will receive a new personal license. You need to use/replace the license in the new package.

For any further licening issues, please contact our support email or use the "Support Request" link:
