Instance of Objects and Optional Components

Post by s_schmidt »

Dear Support Team,

I have a ObjectType with the reference "HasComponent" to an Object (Name = "ObjectA"). This Object HasTypeDefinition to a different ObjectType (Name = "ObjectTypeB"). ObjectTypeB has twice the reference "HasComponent" to two Variables; "var1", is Mandatory and "var2", is Optional. In ObjectA I have not explicitly added the optional Variable. If I now make an instance of the ObjectA in the "Objects" I expect to be able to select the Optional var2 also from the Optional componants. But as in ObjectA I have not explicitly selected the optional variable I am also not able to select it in its instance. Does this really need to be like that? Or is that a Bug in the UaModeler Tool?

Thanks, Kind regards!

Hello,

In the current version of UaModeler you can only select optional children that are defined in the hierarchy of children of the type.

We are analysing if we should change this behavior in a future version.
