Regarding the 'Triggering model', as defined by OPC 10000-4, section 5.12.1.6:
https://reference.opcfoundation.org/v104/Core/docs/Part4/5.12.1/
Within Ua Expert it is possible to set 'Sampling' mode for a monitored item, but I cannot see how to link it to a triggering item.
Is that possible?
Using Ua Expert V1.5.1

Re: Triggering model
Hi,
no the UaExpert is not capable of requesting monitored item in the triggering mode. The UaExpert can just do the "regular" monitoring modes (sampling anf reporting).

Re: Triggering model
Hi,
Thank you for clarifying that. (Is this feature on a roadmap to be included in a future release perhaps?)
So as it stands, setting the monitoring mode of an item to 'Sampling' will cause the server to sample the value and queue it up if required, but it will never be published to a client because no extended triggering can be configured.
Is that right?
Is there a use case for when this behaviour might be required?
Thanks.

Re: Triggering model
Hi,
correct, the "sampling" mode means sampling for ever (must configure queue size correctly to not loose data), but not sending unless you have a trigger item (which you can not configure in UaExpert). Therefor the the "sampling-mode" is (kind of) useless in UaExpert. Except you want to test some Server functionality.
