Source name not displayed properly

Post by induna23 »

Hi,

In the UAExpert Event viewer, for the events that are published ,the following values (Strings and LocalizedText types ) are not displayed properly :

SourceName
ConditionName
Active State
Message

(Shown as some boxes instead)
The corresponding nodes however are readable as shows the values clearly in Attribute Window.

Also Events which are of AlarmType (For Eg:OffNormalState Alarm Type) are not getting displayed in Alarm Window.

What could be the reason ?

Thanks & Regards,
Indu

Hello,

if the EventField values are delivered to the UaExpert correctly, the values are shown as expected in the event view. This is tested well with a big variety of servers. If unexpected values are displayed it is very likely that your server does not behave correctly.

Please check again (as stated in http://www.unified-automation.com/forum ... events.htm) that the EventFields are returned in the correct order and match the requested SelectClause. Refer to the UA specification about the structure and order of EventFields in an EventNotification.

Also ensure that strings delivered by your server are UTF8-encoded as this is the specified encoding for UA strings.

The values of EventFields in the types tree are in no way related to the values received in events. Being able to read these values correctly does not indicate that the values of EventFields are delivered correctly to the client in EventNotifications.

Events of type ConditionType or it's subtypes are not shown in the alarm view if the Retain field is set to false. Please refer to the UA specification about the meaning of the particular EventFields.
