Hi,
Is there any way to browse in UaExpert using a ViewId?
I can see my views in UaExpert under Views, but I cannot seem to browse using them. When I expand the view, I browse the references from my View node, but the ViewId does not seem to be applied to the browse.
Is there planned any such functionality for UaExpert? It would be quite useful to be able to specify a ViewId in the Address Space View.
Best regards,
Trond

Hello Trond,
currently there is no way of browsing with ViewId using UaExpert. We have this on our feature request list but cannot say yet when this will get implemented.

Re: Browsing using a ViewId
Hi,
the concept of "view" as defined by OPC UA is (kind of) obsolete, because not implemented by any market relevant server. In that sense the filtered view on the original nodes is obviously not required, hence nobody really needs this feature. Some (very rare) servers that allow node management services, may have the ability to present same nodes in different hierachy (but without using the filtered view).
Now after 9 years we are pretty sure that nobody will ever need it. However, there is a rather new feature called "alias", pretty much same like a sym-link, which seems to have more value for the users, hence creates more interest on the market.
