Unified Architecture topics related to OPC UA Specification, compliant behavior and any technical issues of OPC UA, like Security, Information Model, Companion Specs DI, PLCopen, ADI, ...
I am using the Siemens framework (C#, VS2010) to connect to an OPC server. The server knows a number of different users and until recently I have been using the user 'expert'. This user can read a large number of nodes and works fine.
I now want to use the user 'diag' which can write as well but I always get a
when I open the session. On the same PC, I tried connecting using UAExpert - the connect was successful and I can write too. So, in theory, I can connect from this PC using the user and password.
Can anyone shed some light on this. I am an OPC novice and it is quite possible that I need to define the session differently or something simple.
I don't know which framework/API you are using.
We can only provide support for products/components from UnifiedAutomation.
If it works for one username/password there should be no logical difference when using a different username/password.
For detailed help you'll need to contact the support of the vendor providing that framework.
