Hi,
I see that the standards mention that TAI may be used instead of UTC, wherever the UtcTime data type is used: see Part 3 clause 8.38. How would a client be aware of which time standard a server is using? I do not see this modelled in the server capabilities.
Kind regards,
Brett Swann

Re: TAI
Hi Brett,
There is currently no representation of clock details in the standard OPC UA information model. There is also nothing in the upcoming OPC UA version 1.04.
There was a discussion in the OPC UA working group about adding representation of different clocks but this is not covered yet but may be added in one of the next versions e.g. 1.05 since with TSN, OPC UA applications will have to manage different clocks like wall clock and network clock(s).
