OPC UA over 2 networks

Post by JMerks »

Hi,
I Am working on a project where the OPC UA Server (Phoenix contact AXC 1050 PLC) is connected to a Sierra RV50 router with a M2M Sim-Card (Router 1).
The OPC UA Client is a laptop with TIA Portal WinCC professional on a office-network (Router 2).

So I know that I Should put the IP "opc.tcp://name:Port" of the PLC in the "OPC UA Discovery URL" But this won't work because the PLC is on another network.

Is it possible, and if so, how could I acces the PLC (Router 2) from my Tia portal SCADA Application in the office (Router 1)?

Hope to receive a reaction.
Thanks a lot in advance!
Joost

Hello,

when connectiong two networks we typically use "routers" in between that can route/translate from the one network into the other.
Please get yourself farmiliar with basic network infrastructure configuration, before starting with OPC UA.
